At the end of the 19th century, Lightner Witmer first helped to treat a boy with a learning disability. Witmer then opened the first psychology clinic in 1986. The clinic focused on treating children with disabilities. Witmer was also the first person who coined the term “clinical psychology” by putting it in his psychology journal. The journal is called The Psychology Clinic.
