Imagery is an author's use of vivid and descriptive language to add depth to their work. An example would be if the sky is blue and the author writes: The crystal, blue sky stared back at me with fluffy, large clouds.
Imagery is when an author uses vivid and descriptive language to paint an image in the reader's mind. Imagery uses the senses to describe something. An example could be; a savory and sweet smell arose from the golden chicken as steam rose into the air above.
