Peripeteia is a Greek word that refers to the protagonist's reversal of fortune. This is commonly used to narrate in detail the fall of the main character in Greek tragedy. This is a noticeable part of a Greek literary work wherein the main character experiences completely different and usually the opposite of what the character used to have and to experience. For example if the main character in the literary work is rich, in perpeteia the character becomes poor and probably suffering.
