The correct answer is C. These islands were where missions were found.

1. Fort and Mission of Santa Catalina in St. Catherine Island,  was the first Spanish settlement in the barrier islands of Georgia, built in 1566. Menéndez de Avilés created a fort on the island to avoid the arrival of other Europeans.  The French who had settled were expelled and the Spaniards controlled the territory creating a network of forts from Georgia to Carolina.  It remained for 30 years and was rebuilt later. The worst moment for the Presidio and the mission was the attack of Indians armed by the English to attack areas controlled by the Spaniards. Santa Catalina was the first to fall.

2. Presidio and Mission of Tolomato in South Newport. It was built in 1595  and it was kept for 30 years and rebuilt later. This Franciscan mission was rebuilt after the fire and later moved.

3. Presidio and mission of San José de Zapata in Sapelo Island, built in 1605 and destroyed in the year 1684.

4. Presidio of the island of San Pedro in Cumberland Island, was built in 1569, it remained for fifteen years protecting several missions from Pirates.

5. Destruction of the Spanish missions in Georgia barrier islands: The military missions and presidios that were rebuilt in the year 1605 were again destroyed 70 years later. The militias of South Carolina in 1680 destroyed most of the Spanish settlements. The pressure of the bordering states was getting stronger. The work of the Spanish missions clashed with the English policies of annihilating or expelling the Native populations to seize their lands. In about 6 years they destroyed the Georgian missions and enslaved the Native Americans.
