Polar bears are found in low-temperature areas such as the Artic region. A rise in the temperature is causing the polar bear population to decline. Polar bears must have thick fur to stay warm in a cold climate. Because the Arctic is covered by an ocean, polar bears must occasionally swim long distances. They have white fur that provides camouflage in an icy and snowy environment, and their black skin absorbs the low levels of sunlight.
Corals live in warm tropical oceans. Because they feed on algae, they must live near the surface of the ocean where light can penetrate. They also require a substrate to live on, so the water must be shallow. Because they are animals, the oxygen levels in the water must be adequate
