US officials feared that allowing all of Vietnam to come under communist control would lead to the spread of communism throughout all of Southeast Asia. While most US leaders wanted to stop the spread of communism, some were hesitant to use force to keep South Vietnam free of communism. What reasons might a person have had to avoid using US military forces in Vietnam?

Respuesta :

Since a very beginning, US only had a tough attitude: the world had to give explanations to the Americans and Vietnam was a country with a very deep principles, one of them was the respect for the older men as a bridge between the real world and his gods, While US despite old men as an "unproductive ones".

Using US forces would go against the idea that the Vietnamese people should be free to pick their own leadership and form of government.

Conflict would cost the United States in lives, money, and moral authority.

Conflict could cause harm to the people of Vietnam.
