The processes of erosion operating at the coast:

The process of erosion is when the land weathers away by the sea normally by strong waves of the sea. This normally includes five processes in total.

  1. Corrasion leads to the picking up of the particles present on the beach like the pebbles and are deposited at the base of the cliff.
  2. Next is abrasion, which happens at the breaking of the waves which contains sand.
  3. Hydraulic action is breaking of the base of the cliff by water hitting it again and again.
  4. Attrition is when rocks break because of the waves hitting them.
  5. The last is corrosion when cliff erodes because of weak acids in the sea.
