There will be loss of normal breathing rhythm

Explanation:

A brain tumor in the pons region of the hindbrain is called as the pontine tumor or pontine glioma.

The pons present in the hindbrain bridges the cerebral cortex and the medulla oblongata. The pons along with medulla oblongata and control the autonomic functions like breathing, heart rate, blood pressure.

The respiratory center of the human body is located within the brainstem region in the pons and medulla oblongata. These are present as medullary and pontine respiratory groups.

The pontine respiratory groups – pneumotaxic and apneustic centres.

When the respiratory centers are affected due to any brain injury or tumor the respiratory rhythm and rate and breathing pattern are affected.

Hence, a brain tumor in the pons region will lead to a loss of normal breathing rhythm.
