1)Why is a change in polarity useful in welding?
2)explain the function of Ae7013 welding rod.
3)list and explain 4 factors you need to observe while stick welding to make a good “consistent” bead.

Someone help please ASAP

Respuesta :

Answer 1:

Choosing the right polarity probably affects the quality and strength of the weld. This is why the changes in the polarity is useful in welding.

Answer 2:

There are different sizes of welding rods available in the market. the majorly used sizes are namely 6010, 6011, 6012, 6013, 7014, 7024 and 7018. The 7013 rod is used for welding low and mild alloy steel.

Answer 3:

The 4 major factors involved in stick welding to make good “consistent” bead are as follows,

  • Current setting - Determining whether DC positive, DC negative, or AC should be set up in the machine chosen.
  • Length of arc - Do not let the arc stutter. The exact lenth differs with the application and electrode.
  • Speed of travel - The speed should help in maintaining the arc in leading 1/3 of the weld pool.
  • Manipulation of electrode  - Practice, observe and develop the technique that would result the best.
