Let us take length be 3x, breadth be 2x and height be x.

Volume of cuboid = 48 cubic meter

length × breadth × height = 48

[tex]3x\times 2x \times x = 48[/tex]

[tex]6x^3=48[/tex]

Divide by 6 on both sides of the equation.

[tex]x^3=8[/tex]

[tex]x^3=2^3[/tex]

Taking cube root on both sides, we get

x = 2

Base area of the cuboid = length × breadth

                                        = 3(2) × 2(2)

                                        = 6 × 4

                                        = 24

Base area of the cuboid = 24 square inches
