Answer:

if you are looking for the equation tot he line for those points it is y = -5/16 x + 32

Step-by-step explanation:

if you want the equation of the line you need slope.  actually you need to know two formulas.

For the first one you need one point and the slope.  You have three points, so just pick one.  Make sure you use the x and y from the same point though.

This is the point slope form, y - y1 = m(x - x1) where m is the slope and (x1, y1) is one of the points.  Again, just pick one.  Solving this for y gets you the equation of the line.  basically you add y1 to both sides to get y = m(x - x1) + y.  then distribute and everything you need to get it in the form y = mx + b.

Now, to get slope you need two points.  You have three so you're set.  Just pick to and make sure you use the right ones.

slope is (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) where the points are (x1, y1) and (x2, y2)  again, make sure you put them in the right order.  A side note, if any ever have a 0 in either coordinate use that as one of them.  that isn't the case here though.

I am going to pick (32, 22) and (48, 17)  I could have picked them in the other order too, doesn't matter, just make sure x1 and y1 match up and x2 and y2 match up.

(17 - 22)/(48 - 32) = -5/16

Now we use the y - y1 = m(x - x1)  again you can pick any point.  since I alreadys et x1 and y1 I am going to use (32, 22) again.

y - 22 = -5/16 (x - 32)

y = -5/16 x + 10 + 22

y = -5/16 x + 32

go ahead and check any of the points.  And if you have any questions I would be happy to try and answer them.
