When it comes to texts about historic events, it's important for the events to be presented chronologically (in the order they took place). Otherwise, the text will not make much sense. Imagine reading an article about, for example, some king's life. It would be fine if it was described chronologically - from his life to his death. It would not make sense, though, if you first read about a battle in which the said king participated, then about his birth, his death, and then about another battle again. The text would be too confusing, illogical.
