What is the definition of ethics?
The term ethics can refer to any philosophical theory of what is morally right and wrong, morally good and evil, and any system or code of moral norms, principles, or values, as well as the philosophical study of moral right and wrong, moral good and bad. The three ethical theories (utilitarian ethics, deontological ethics, and virtue ethics) are at the heart of normative ethics debates. It is critical, however, for public relations professionals to grasp how to use these notions in their day-to-day work. Morality and ethics are both vaguely concerned with discriminating between "good and bad" or "right and wrong."
