Explain in your own words what would occur if a slave became afraid, changed their mind while on the Underground Railroad, and wanted to return to their owner?
Answer: If a slave escaped and came back because of fear the slave would of course get "whipped" or beat for sneaking out they might even get sold just for trying to get freedom.
