Respuesta :

An example of 9-5 practice question on quadratic equations by completing the square is   5x2–2x−9=0.

What are  quadratic equation?

This is known to be a type of  algebraic expression that is based on the second degree in x. The quadratic equation often exist in a standard form such as  ax2 + bx + c = 0.

To solve for   5x2–2x−9=0

Then you have to rearrange the equation into:

x2−(2/5)x−9/5=0

= x2−(2/5)x=9/5

= (x−(2/10))2−(2/5)2=9/5(here b = 2/5)

= (x−(2/10))2=46/25

Then you take the square root on both sides

= (x−(2/10))=±1.356

Therefore  x=1.556  or say −1.156.
