While it is true that life does lead to death, that does not mean that life does not matter. There can be life in Heaven after death if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. So when you die does in fact matter a lot, because if you die before you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you are headed for an eternity in Hell.
It may sound harsh, but the reality is harsh for those who do not trust God. Hell is real, because we all have sinned and done many things wrong. There is no way for us to make up for our sins to God. The only way to Heaven is to believe that Christ died to pay for your sins.
