When we're talking about child growth, we're specifically talking about the physical development of a child. When we're talking about child develompent, we're talking about the whole package - not only the physical development, but also the emotional, cognitive, and social development of a child.
Growth and development are two distinct terms. Growth refers to the child's series of changes that can be seen often through a period of time such as height, weight, and body size. Growth can happen as a process of maturation which can either be a physical growth and an abstract growth. Growth can be associated on numeric models as to how much  is grown over time. Development on the other hand, is the child's intellectual, social, emotional, and even physical changes between birth to the end of the child's adolescence. development describes the child's  psychological, emotional and biological progress in a continuous process with a sequence which is but a unique course in every child.
