People travel to Franklin, Idaho to visit the historic sites associated with the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also known as Mormonism. Franklin was named after Franklin Richards who was an apostle of the Mormon Church. As the state of Idaho is within some of the areas of heaviest concentration of the Mormon population they visit to participate in this area of historical significance to the religion.
