To what extent should the personal liberties of american citizens be curtailed in order to protect the nation as a whole? do you agree with the national security arguments made for each of the above? what lessons were learned from the above and can you see the same arguments playing out today?

Referring to these topics:
Espionage and Seditions Acts during WWI
Internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII
McCarthyism and the Red Scare
Pentagon Papers

1. In a democratic country such as united states, Personal liberty should be Curtail no matter what the situation in. If the government want to take some sort of extreme measures in order to increase national security, they all need to do it with the consent of the people/

2. I do not agree.
It is really important for a country to maximize the mechanism for its national security in order to make citizens feel safe from outside's threats. That being said, blatantly violate people's right to privacy, the Government will only eliminate threat from another country to something that become a threat for all zitizens from within.

3 Even today, i believe maintaining the right of privacy is more important than ever.
It is really easy in this current period to obtain other people's personal information due to the development of computers and internett Because of this, the government should treat violation of privacy even more seriously.
