The statement is false..
Unification in it's core refers to the merging of two countries into one, mostly neighboring countries, but it can also refer to the political and economic aspects. The best example maybe for the political and economic unification aspects is the European Union. The member countries are not officially merged into one in the sense of their territories, but they are politically unified and also economically unifies, where the borders are open for trade and the companies from different countries go on the world market as a unit and help and support each other.
