What can you conclude about the impact U.S. involvement in Vietnam?

My answer is A but i have a feeling it might be D

I would say A as well, because the US failed to have North Vietnam stay united with South Vietnam, thus it did not slow the spread of communism. The war was long had hard, so it discouraged military service. The Soviet Union gained influence because they helped the Viet Cong and North Vietnam.
