You like the latest laptop, but you cannot afford it. The new laptop does not count as demand for you. Due to not being able to afford the latest laptop, you do not demand of it. If you wanted the laptop instead of just liking it, there would be a demand for you to make use of the money you have to make sure you can afford it. There are also other alternatives that allow for the purchase of the laptop if the demand for you to have it was strong.
