The endocrine system is composed of:

THE HYPOTHALAMO-HYPOPHYSARY SYSTEM:

The hypothalamus is located under the thalamus and plays a role between the nervous system and the endocrine system. The hypothalamus and pituitary gland are two closely related organs hence the term hypothalamic-pituitary system.

GLANDS:

They are organs whose cells make special products that they do not use for themselves but that they manufacture for the use of other elements of the body.

The part of the system diabetes affects

Diabetes mellitus can be derived from several etiologies:

It can be autoimmune, due to the attack of the immune system against the pancreas

It may be due to insulin resistance, that is to say a bad interaction between insulin (hormone secreted by the pancreas that aims to bring glucose into the cells) and its receptor in all cells of the body.

Symptoms: Diabetes is known by the appearance of the polyuria triad, polydypsia and polyphagia, as well as other signs:

Slimming.

Drowsiness.

Tired.

Brutal changes in vision.

Loss of consciousness.

Complication: Diabetes can have irreversible complications due to macroangiopathy and microangiopathy.

diabetic nephropathy

diabetic retinopathy

diabetic neuropathy

myocardial infarction due to coronary atherosclerosis, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, stroke.

For treatment, there are non-drug treatments for beginner diabetics, such as dietary regimen, regular physical activity

For drugs, insulin is the major treatment for type I diabetics, as well as for advanced type II diabetics.

There are oral antidiabetic drugs designed for type II diabetics.
