What's the answer to tripling the greater of the two consecutive even integers gives the same result as subtracting 10 from the lesser even integer. what are the integers?

let the 2 integers be x and x + 2.

so we have the equation:-

3(x + 2)  = x - 10

3x + 6 = x - 10

2x = -16

x = -8

the integers are -8 and -6  answer
