(consider this) an exception to the advice "go to college, stay in college, and earn a degree" occurs when tuition expenses are high and rising. The opportunity cost of attending college is extraordinarily high. The price of textbooks is high and rising. The economy is growing rapidly and jobs are plentiful.

I believe the answer is:  the opportunity cost of attending college is extraordinarily high.

People in united states had an average of 25,000-30,000 dollars worth of  student loan debt by the time they finish their college And had to start from 0 again in the job market.. The opportunity cost seems to be high since you could get more than that amount if you start establishing your own businesses within the 4 years.
