now rate of change in height is velocity

so we can say

[tex]v = \frac{dh}{dt}[/tex]

[tex]v = 17 - 3.72 t[/tex]

now at t  = 1 s

[tex]v = 17 - 3.72[/tex]

[tex]v = 13.28 m/s[/tex]

so its speed will be 13.28 m/s
