They stopped being nomades unlike other tribes.

The Kingdom of Israel, formed by the secession of the Ten Tribes under Jeroboam, covered the whole northern and north-eastern part of the realm of David which constituted the bulk of the land of the Hebrews.  The Israelites believed in one God, while other peoples believed in many gods. The Israelites believed in an all-knowing, all-powerful God who was present everywhere.
