Hello!

To solve this equation let's replace the > sign for now and make the operation sign = so we can solve for it.

First, we will subtract 8 from both sides. Making it -x=6-8

We will then solve for the right side, giving us -x=-2

To solve for x, we need to divide each side by -1.

When we are doing this, we get the result of x=2.

When we go to rewrite this equation as an inequality, the operation sign will be the opposite of what it originally was

Giving us the answer of x < 2 !
