Texans, after the friction developed between them and Mexicans met in November of 1834 to released a statement to emphasize their commitment to the 1824 Constitution and declared themselves a separate state of Mexico.
The thing that caused friction was the dictator Santa Anna repudiated the Federal Constitution of 1824 and pursued an authoritarian centralization of goverment by crushing oposers and aplying force.
