HELP !?!?!?!?

1. Which of the following excerpts is structured correctly?

"She wants to go outside . . . and walk the dog." Jesse said.
"She wants to go outside," said Jesse. "And walk the dog."
"She wants to go outside," Jesse said, "and walk the dog."
Jesse said "she wants to go outside, and walk the dog."

P.S I already did this one but, I just want the grammer & stuff to be checked :-)

2. Jean rushes to help Sam, who just got hurt at the skate park. Create at least four lines of effective dialogue between them that are punctuated and capitalized correctly, and include taglines.

My Answer:
"Sam, are you okay?", asked Jean as she ran to help Sam.
Sam replied in pain, "No! I'm not okay... I think I broke my arm."
"I'll call an ambulance right now!" Jean said hesitantly.
Sam yelled, "Okay, but first call my mom".

Respuesta :

For your first question, the correct excerpts that is structured correctly is,

"She wants to go outside... and walk the dog," Jesse said.

Always finish your though before finish of the sentence with in your case. "Jesse said"

For the second question, it's done perfectly, but reading it over I think you should take the last word or Sam, in the sentence "Sam, are you okay?" asked Jean as she ran to help Sam." Maybe but a her instead of "asked Sam?" I don't know, that's just me, it just sounds more right. Although, you can still keep Sam in instead of her or just "ran to help", otherwise everything is great!

Hope this helped!

1. -

Since everything there was said by Jesse at the same time (we know that by the way the sentence was structured) "said Jesse" should go at the end of the sentence.

2. -

As far as I can see, there are no mistakes. The are other possible options:

→ "No! I'm ok... I think I broke my arm" replied Sam in pain.

→ "Okay, but first call my mom" cried Sam (you can also keep your original "yelled Sam").

Hope it helped,
