they think people need to know

Explanation: Humanism is an approach that implies that all people are born with the inherited good, which is a natural law that does not require approval from any institution or Church. This natural law is instilled as a natural right to all people, and as such it is opposed to the teaching of the Church that all people bear the inherited sin for which they must commit to repentance and salvation. Humanism is, in fact, an inherited teaching of ancient Greece and its philosophy where man is the centre of interest. All man's needs, habits, traits, springs from him, and satisfying those same needs serve and purpose solely to man, not to some abstract absolute. That is why during humanism it is emphasized that people need to be educated, to be aware of their natural rights and laws. This was necessary to get people involved in the civic lifestyle, to be active in communities, and to promote and live a humanistic lifestyle based on natural rights. Therefore, liberal studies were required to be at the core of the humanistic schools, which combined Christianity with classical teaching, i.e. humanism. Humanism did not reject Christianity; it believed that there was a Creator of the universe and humans, but that everything worked on the basis of natural rights. For this reason liberal studies should have viewed the world and society from the perspective of humanism and natural laws, not dogma.
