The Aleut, Inuit, and Yupik people make up the “Eskimos” that inhabit the regions of Canada, the United States (Alaska), Russia, and Denmark. Their society, way of life, and economy greatly rely on the marine mammals that inhabit their area, including seals. The Arctic peoples used seal for food meat and for its blubber/skin to create harpoons, tools and utensils, boats, tents, fuel/lights, and clothes.

Similarly, the Bedouin or Bedu, are an Arabian nomadic people. They regard the camel as a “Gift from God” as it is an important resource to their culture and economy. Camels were used as a food/milk source and a means of transportation for themselves (and to transport others) across the desert. They are often used in cultural, religious, and ceremonial celebrations.

Global warming has immensely affected wildlife in the Arctic region. Many animals are losing their habitats as well as facing near extinction, altering the food chain for all life forms.
