Core Muscles, quadricep muscles and hamstring muscles

  • Force summation is defined as the combination of the correct timing and sequencing of large muscles coming together to make smaller ones.

Examples includes when one wants to throw shot put;

  • The quadriceps which are larger muscles are needed to flex the knees after which the energy is then made to extend the legs by movement through to the gluts. Before any energy is lost from a particular muscle group, the largest one there comes to create a maximum force.
  • Thereafter, the same energy moves to the abdominals, the pectorals, and it finally gets the biceps of the person throwing the shot put to give the person enough force to throw it.

  • But in all these written, the largest muscle groups here are Core Muscles, quadricep muscles and hamstring muscles.
