The structural formula of a chemical compound is a graphic representation of the molecular structure, which shows how atoms are arranged or spatially distributed. The chemical bonds within the molecule are shown, either explicitly or implicitly.
The cis / trans isomers are compounds that differ in the spatial arrangement of their groups. Particularly, the cis isomers are geometric isomers that have the groups on the same side while the trans isomers are those that have them on opposite sides.
