The union consisted of Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan. Vladimir Lenin was the first head of soviet Russia. The main idea behind its formation was to provide economic and social rights to everyone. The USSR split up in 1991 and all the former members of the USSR became free.
