A. 8 miles.
B. 10 miles.
C. 2 miles.
D. 6 miles.

Respuesta :

Beth has traveled D. 6 miles

C. 2

If Sarah travelled 8 and their difference is 10 v can simply subtract 10 - 8= 2.

EDIT!!!
my bad.. Sorry.. Above answer is incorrect.
FOLLOWING IS THE CORRECT ANSWER! (I apologize)
So if Sarah travelled north and Beth travelled east, consider them being at 2 ends of a triangle.
Since they both sre 10 miles apart, consider the hypotanious to be 10. And Beth has travelled 8 gives us that one side of the triangle is 8.
Therefore by applying Pythagoras theorom,
10²- 8² = x²
100-64=x²
36 =x²
6 =x
