If you take two photos at the same time on two different nights from the same location you can compare where it is in the sky. Weight until the moon and a star are close to being aligned, then weight one week and take another one, the stars don't move, the same stars are in the sky every night, they just come up at a different time do to the orbit of the earth around the sun.
