Langston Hughes is translating his experience in an America where he, as a man of a darker skin color, has been treated as a second class citizen. He expresses the fact that he is hidden away in the forums of white people due to his color. he explains that he doesn't mind that he is being treated this way, because he knows that he is not totally banned from this society, and believes that if he works hard and slowly becomes ready, he will have his turn to an opportunity in America.

He is saying that his future, as a dark skinned brother, is so bright that he has to wear shades.

my experience is different because I belong to that white society that has been working to stifle the black population for all these years. I have so much more opportunities and "white privilege ".
