Europeans arrived in the New World to get away from several things from the homeland. Some came to escape from poverty and to start a new life other for religious freedom and trade. Each of the colonists had a different relationship with the Native American.
British at the beginning had good relation with the Native Indians because they depend on there help for survival. Later, settlers became hostile toward Indians, and the tension develops between the two because of the land.
Spanish had a very hostile relationship with the Native Americans. Spaniards first settlers were the soldiers, mercenaries, and Conquistadors who came to conquer the land and generate money for the crown.
French was the friendliest of all the colonists. They maintain a peaceful relationship with signing treaties which allowed both to survive by conducting trade. Native Indians exchange fur pelts in return for European goods like weapons, textiles (cloths) and metal utensils.
