Galactic disk is disk galaxies which consist of gaseous components and stars dust and other material moving in a circular motion about a common axis. Some disk depicts a spiral pattern which is a result of the rotational movement while some have featureless form.
The disks are thin since their motion depends on the disc's plane. The thickness of the disc varies with different galaxies. For example, the Milky Way disc is 1 kpc thick. Galactic disc studies have been understood or advanced by studying motions, ages of stars, and etc.
