When the body lieth in clay.
Here shall you see how Fellowship and jollity,
Both Strength, Pleasure, and Beauty,
Will fade from thee as flower in May.
It speaks about death and when the body is finally lied to
rest through burial. When death is upon us, all our earthly qualities that we
tend to preserve such as beauty, strength, pleasure, fellowship and jollity will
all fade away.
