Explain one way in which opportunities for women and minorities changed during the war.

Respuesta :

During the war, lot of men were sent to fight. This resulted in lack of labor force. In order for the economy to continue to run and develop, as well as provide the soldiers with the necessary equipment, new labor force had to be acquired. The discrimination against the women and the minority groups quickly went away, as they were the ones that were free to fill in the gap. While the economy benefited from this, the women and the minority groups benefited a lot as well, as they got much better and secure job opportunities, and that gradually opened up lot of doors to them in life, especially financial security.

As a result of the First and Second World Wars, women and minorities gained opportunities in factory work.

The World Wars:

  • Needed a lot of men to fight
  • Reduced the number of men available for factory work

With the number of white men that were able to work reducing to an all time low, factories turned to other sources of labor such as women and Black people which allowed for these minorities to earn better wages and contribute more to the economy.

In conclusion, the world wars allowed for minorities to gain factory work.
