Green House Gases are those gases which absorbed heat in the atmosphere and started to warm the earth, this process also known green house effect. these gases affects the earth's energy balance and temperature. The best known greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide and methane these gases can be found naturally in low concentrations in the earth's atmosphere. green house gas absorbs infrared radiation from the Sun in the form of heat which keep earth warm. but excess of green house gases cant destroy earth as well. Global Warming is the consequence of excessive green house gases.

The reason behind why earth atmosphere would be very cold without greenhouse gas is that, that greenhouse gas has the quality to trap sun rays , which keeps earth warm.
