Answer: The parts of this map that are darker green are highly populated and the areas that are light green are sparsely populated. Living in the area with spares population is hard because there are little to no towns to go to and get what you need so than the areas that are darker green become populated even more by these people. Then because more people want to live there goods and services become more expensive.

In this map, we can see that the most populated areas are to the east of the country. Moreover, we can also see that on the west, there is a signfican population close to the coast. However, the middle part of the country is sparsely populated.

There are several reasons for this. Weather is an important one, as living close to the south or close the coast allows people to live in a warmer, milder climate. Another factor is economic. The middle part of the country relies on agriculture and is mostly rural, which means that a few people manage large expanses of land, and that cities and other industries are not very developed. Finally, a third reason is historical. Settlers first arrived to the United States from the east, and afterwards from the west coast. However, moving towards the interior was difficult, which meant that the area was only further developed in recent years.
