a grievance is a complaint or a protest. so, when one makes a grievance, they are complaining about something. An example would be "Justin grievances when his boss said he could not get a raise." A non example would be "Jen happily grievances as she is handed a new phone" Why? Well, why would someone complain about something they are happy with?
