In a paragraph of 3–5 sentences, analyze the consequences of American imperialism during the early 1900s.

Respuesta :

Historian Donald W. Meinig argues that the imperial behavior of the United States dates back to at least the Louisiana Purchase. He describes this event as an, “aggressive encroachment of one people upon the territory of another, resulting in the subjugation of that people to alien rule.” Here, he is referring to the U.S. policies toward Native Americans, which he said were, “designed to remold them into a people more appropriately conformed to imperial desires.”

The consequence of American imperialism during the early 1900s was to assist in the conquest of territory which in that year was largely a case of the conquest of territory by other major powers, namely:

  • Starting with the Philippine Resolution where America helped the Philippines in liberating territory from Spain, where America wanted an economy in the Philippine Territory.
  • Wilson's intervention, during the Zimmermann Telegram war aimed at controlling raw materials in Africa.
  • World War II, which wanted America as a "World Watch" for economic gain.
  • Dinging War in Western Europe, where America wants to weaken Moscow's growth and at the same time wants a world economic recovery.

From some of the above objectives, it can be concluded that America wants to dominate important sectors of the world, one example is the economic sector in which the United States helps several countries that are even outside their countries.
