Cardiovascular disease also know as heart disease can caused diseased vessels, structural problems and blood clots. To lower your risk of developing cardiovascular disease you can do the following.

1) Eat a healthy diet. A health diet will assist you in staying at a healthy weight. Being overweight can stress out your heart and put you at a height risk of heart disease. Limit your intake of saturated fats, high volumes of sodium and sugar.

2) Regularly exercise. Exercising regularly can strengthen your heart which will lower your risk.

3) Limit your alcohol intake. Drinking too much alcohol can raise your blood pressure. Drinking too much alcohol can also cause you to gain weight which can stress out and even damage your heart.

4) Don’t smoke. Cigarettes have been found to raise your blood pressure which puts you at higher risk of a heart attack or stroke.

5) Get a proper amount of sleep. Most adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night. Lack of sleep can raise your risk of heart disease and overwork your heart.

6) Manage stress. Stress and other negative emotions can make you physically sick. Stress is one of the number one things linked to heart disease. To manage stress try developing healthy coping mechanism such as exercise or meditation.
