I can't use evidence since I haven't read the text, but if France had a rivalry with Germany- and Germany is kind of considered a cause of WWI then France would surely fight against Germany

I have not read the article. I will try though. People say that Germany is the start of WW 1. France will fight Germany. They did fight, but there was a plan that ended that fight. It is called the Schuman Plan. I hoped this helped you.
