The movement of people from one place to another to work and live is called migration. People can  either move inside the country from rural areas to urban areas or from one city to another, or from one country to another for economic reasons.

Migration has both advantages and disadvantages. Loss of skilled labour, population and markets, social and family issues are negative effects of migration while remittances, higher quality of life,better jobs, knowledge and skills flow are some of the positive effects of migration.  

Loss of skilled labour is biggest negative impact on a country due to migration as the young graduates leave the country and work in other countries. In developing countries engineers, nurses, doctors and other professionals are lost to developed countries due to migration.

The engineers, nurses, doctors and other skilled professionals are lost to the developed countries due to migration, these professional offer their services to the developed countries and it is a drain of skilled professionals from the home country, It enhances  their backwardness.
