Incident command system is the standard approach used in the control, command and coordination of responses to emergency situations or incidents thus enabling effectiveness between the hierarchy.

The Incident Command system has different sections just like any other company or firm and all of these sections have the roles they play in the incident control.

1. The planning section of the incident control is responsible for collecting, evaluating as well as disseminating information regarding the development of an incident.

2. The finance/administration section of the ICS is responsible for handling all financial and administrative aspects of the incidents respectively.

3. The logistics section of the ICS has the main responsibility of providing every facility and material needed at the incident site to ensure the containment of the incident.

4. The section of the ICS that is in charge of the conduct, development and organization of tactics and tactical resources is the Operations section. This section is headed by the Operations section chief and together with other members of the section, ensure that the resources as well as mode of operations concerning an incident are properly managed and executed according to plan.
